My Chill Waiting Spot: Elbs Cafe, Matcha, and Good Reads

There are days when I pick up Koykoy from school and I just don't feel like opening my laptop or doing anything work-related while I wait. On those days, I head straight to Elbs Cafe in Kauswagan, Cagayan De Oro. It's kind of my default chill spot — the place I go when I'm craving something, need to slow down, and just want to be by myself for a bit. 🌸

Matcha, Fries, and Good Music

Once in a while, this is exactly what I need. I'd sit down, put on my headphones, play good music, and just exist for a while. No pressure, no deadlines. Just me and my order in front of me, taking my time. ✨

This time I was craving their sweet and sour fries — right after my period, so yes, that craving was very real 😅. The moment I got my tray I was already ready to dig in.

And of course, matcha. Always matcha. 💚 I am a matcha lover through and through — it never gets old for me.

Reading While Eating

When I'm not working at the cafe, I love to read. I brought Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker with me this time and I got really into it while eating my fries. 📖

One part that really hit me was this line I ended up highlighting:

"You have to believe that you are the one who creates your success, that you are the one who creates your mediocrity, and that you are the one creating your struggle around money and success. Consciously or unconsciously, it's still you." — T. Harv Eker, Secrets of the Millionaire Mind

That's Wealth File #1 — rich people believe "I create my life," poor people believe "Life happens to me." Reading that while just sitting quietly at a cafe, waiting for my kid, felt like a little reminder I didn't know I needed that day. 💗

My Happy Little Waiting Ritual

Not every wait time has to be productive. Sometimes the best thing I can do for myself is just eat, read, drink my matcha, and listen to music. This is my self-care in between mom duties, and I'm not sorry about it at all 😆.
